Labouchere Roulette System

What Is It?

The Labouchere System was developed by Henry Labouchere, a successful businessman, and gambler. This strategy is complicated than Fibonacci and Martingale, though easy enough to master. If you are looking for an easy to understand and implement the progressive betting system, then the Labouchere is not for you. It is a complicated system that needs some practice to get used to it. Fortunately, every bit of effort you put into this would be worthwhile as it is known to be one of the better roulette systems. It is quite popular among the gamblers.

It works with even chance bets and you can use it with Even/Odd, Red/Black, and 1-18/19-36. Using this strategy to play on inside bets can be quite risky as the numbers will not add up and chances are that you will lose a lot. The main concept behind this system is to recover the losses by making a profit from smaller wins. It is a negative progression system so one needs to increase the bet after a loss. Instead of recovering all the losses with one huge win (which is quite unreliable), this systems aims to recover with multiple small wins.

The Strategy

In order to use the Labouchere system, you first need to decide on the profit you want to make. Then split it into smaller figures.

If you want to win $10, you can split it up like 1 – 1 – 1 – 2 – 2 – 2 – 1.

Your sequence is completely up to you. Once you start playing, take the leftmost figure and the rightmost figure, add it up, and use the number to bet. In the above example, you will be using $2 as your first bet. If you win, remove these two figures from the sequence as you won part of your goal. Your new sequence will look like 1 – 1 – 2 – 2 – 2. Continue the process till all the numbers are crossed out.

However, if you lose, do not cross out any figure. Instead, you should add the wagered number to rightmost corner of the sequence. Losing the first bet on the above sequence would create this sequence: 1 – 1 – 1 – 2 – 2 – 2 – 1 – 2.

Conclusion

It is an organized system where the numbers add up at all times and give you a nice profit. If you win just as much as you lose, you will come up a winner. If you come across a huge losing streak, your sequence can become quite long and you will find it difficult to cross off all the numbers on the sequence unless you hit a good winning streak. The strategy is also known as American Progression and Split Martingale.

One of the best features of this system is its flexibility. You can create your own sequence depending on the risk you want to take and the resources you have handy for this. However, you have to be ready to face the consequences. The bet size will increase at a much faster pace after you incur a few losses.
